Author Christopher Wigren comes to the Bill Memorial Library on Saturday, July 13, 2019

As part of the 11th Annual Connecticut Authors Trail, Christopher Wigren will be at the Bill Memorial Library on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. to share his book, Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places. Christopher Wigren is an architectural historian and Deputy Director of the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation. His articles have appeared in the Hartford Courant, the New Haven Register and Connecticut Explored magazine. He lives in New Haven, CT. In his guide to this rich and diverse architectural heritage, Mr. Wigren introduces readers to 100 unique places across Connecticut.

Join the Bill Memorial Library as we celebrate Make Music Day on Friday, June 21, 2019 with a Sing-Along Musical Story Time! Children of all ages, with their parents or caregivers are invited to join us at 10:00 a.m. for our interactive program with stories and movement, live music and instruments.
Music has been shown to strengthen social connectivity, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, stimulate memory and is intergral to a well-rounded, enjoyable life.
Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year. Musical festivities at the library are part of a global celebration of music making in over 1,000 cities inspired by France's Fete de la Musique.
Visit driving-tests.org on our website to study the Connecticut Drivers' Education manual and then take practice tests. Take the practice tests as often as you would like, for free. Study at your own pace until you are ready to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles to take the actual test!
The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton, CT is proud to invite the
community to a Website Premiere Party for the BML Chapter of Girls Who Code
on Tuesday, June 4 th at 4:00pm. Girls Who Code is a computer programming club
for girls in grades 6-12 that empowers girls to pursue skills and careers in the field
of computer science and close the gender gap in technology careers. The Bill
Memorial Library chapter has designed and coded a website meant to better our
community. At the premiere, club members will describe their project, the impact
the website has on the community, and the mission of Girls Who Code. Please join
us as we celebrate the achievements of these young computer programmers. This
event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Please call the library

The Friends of The Bill Memorial Library will be hosting their annual Book Sale to benefit the Bill Memorial Library on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This event will coincide with the Groton Bank Day events. Stop in to browse a great selection of fiction, non-fiction, children's books, DVDs and more for sale.

The Bill Memorial Library will be hosting a Recruiting Assistant of the U.S. Census Bureau on May 18, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. The recruiter will be on hand to answer questions and help with the on-line application process. No experience needed. See how you can be a part of the Decennial Census!

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton, CT on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:00pm for Pizza Mania! Join us for a celebration of all things Pizza! We will make pizza jewelry, take photos in a pizza photo booth, and make our own dessert pizzas. This program is free and all materials will be supplied.
