The Bill Memorial Library will be hosting Community Crafting on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m.  Please join us as our instructor teaches a new craft project each month.  Participants are also welcome to bring their own projects to work on. Craft supplies will be supplied. 

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Bill Memorial Library.

Registration is not required.

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton is now taking registration for our Wonderful Winter Story Time. All ages are welcome, with a caregiver. Story Time meets every Monday at 10:30 a.m., beginning on January 28, 2019 through March 25, 2019 with no session on President’s Day, February 18. Story Time features stories and songs with live music.  Registration is required and space fills up quickly; please stop by the library or call 860-445-0392 for further information or to register.

The Bill Memorial Library will host the Creative Writers of New London County on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30 to 7:30, beginning on Thursday, February 14, 2019.  Bring a pen, paper, all of your best ideas and work of your own (several copies please).  The Creative Writers of New London County are a group of writers who meet up to share, discuss and critique one another’s work using constructive criticism. Whether your goal is to publish, have personal work reviewed or just to meet writing friends, all are welcome.

Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

The Friends of the Bill Memorial Library are hosting "Bites and Bylaws:  A Vision-Casting Meeting" at the Bill Memorial Library on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.  All are invited to attend this first meeting of the new year and to help shape the group's mission for 2019.  Participants are invited to bring a potluck dish to share.  Anyone interested in joining the Friends of the Bill Memorial Library should bring $5.00 to pay member dues. On Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 9:00-10:00 AM, the Bill Memorial Library will host Town Manager John Burt, City of Groton Mayor Keith Hedrick, Town Director of Planning and Development Jonathan Reiner, and Town Economic and Community Development Manager Paige Bronk as they answer questions about Groton’s economic development program, current development activity, and the process for the further redevelopment of Groton Heights School, Mystic Education Center, Seely School, Col. Ledyard School and the Pleasant Valley School.

Teen in grades 6-12 are invited to the Bill Memorial Library on Tuesday, January 22nd at 6 p.m. for an evening of relaxation and de-stressing.  Take a break from studying and join us for “Keep Calm and Relax On”!  Participants will make their own stress ball, create a calming jar, and design their own mini journal.  This program is free and all materials will be supplied.  Registration is required.  To register, please call the Library at (860) 445-0392.
