ROLL INTO READING ON STAR WARS READS DAY!

Come forth, Jedi of all ages, to celebrate Star Wars Reads Day on Tuesday, October 30 all day during our regular hours of 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Complete activity sheets for prizes, make a Star Wars button, and discover all the amazing Star Wars titles in our collection. We will have books with all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away on display and available to check out. Visitors dressed in a Star Wars costume will receive a bonus prize. Your favorite fairy tales and nursery rhymes are now the stuff of nightmares at the Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton!  Join us for our 4th Annual Haunted Library event, “Terrifying Tales” on Saturday, October 27th from 6-8pm.  Take a terrifying tour through our Library and experience these frightening fables like you never have before.  Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family.  This Haunted Library event is designed for participants ages 10 and up.  No registration is necessary.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held Sunday, October 28th from 6-8pm.  This fundraiser is sponsored by the Teen Advisory Board of the Bill Memorial Library, and all proceeds benefit the Library.  For more information, please call (860) 445-0392.

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites families to an Evening Story Time on Thursday, October 18 at 5:00 pm.  Story Time at the Bill Memorial Library is open to all ages and features classic stories as well as new favorites, song time with live music, finger plays, puppets and movement. The library is offering this special Story Time to families who are unable to attend our traditional morning programs. The Bill Memorial Library invites teens in Grades 6 - 12 to join us for our first Eco-Friendly Costume Creation Contest on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. Participants will have one hour to create a unique costume made completely with recyclable materials.  Prizes to be awarded for best use of materials, most colorful and best themed entry.

The Friends of the Bill Memorial Library are hosting Community Coloring Nights for Adults every Monday from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the City of Groton, CT.  Community members are invited to start the week off right with relaxing grown-up coloring pages and good conversation.  Bring a friend or come meet a new neighbor!  This program is free and registration is not required.  Coloring pages and pencils will be supplied , but you are welcome to bring your own!
