The Bill Memorial Library is hosting Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Participants of all ages are invited to stop into the library during those times and select a free comic book (while supplies last). Tabletop gaming fans can also take part in a Dungeons and Dragons session for all levels, hosted by Citadel Game Cellar. There will also be character photo-ops and crafts for all ages, including Star Wars crafts in honor of May The Fourth. Costumes are encouraged.

The Mystic & Noank Library and Bill Memorial Library, December 2018
It’s the month of giving! This year, the Mystic & Noank Library and the Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton are partnering together to collect food for our neighbors in need. Throughout December, both libraries will be offering a seasonal exchange that allows you to help the hungry while clearing yourself of late fees. Bring nonperishable, unexpired food items to either library and, in exchange, you will pay off your fines!
For every food item you bring in, $1 worth of fines will be forgiven. Please note - food donations cannot be used for lost or damaged material fees. You may make multiple donations; you may also make donations even if you don’t have any fines!
Food donated to the Bill Memorial Library will be given to the food pantry at Groton Human Services, food donated to the Mystic & Noank Library will be divided between the Food Bank at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Shelter and the Food Pantry...
The Friends of the Bill Memorial Library are proud to present their second annual Cocoa & Crafts Holiday Shopping Event! Join us on Sunday, November 18th from 12pm-3pm at the Bill Memorial Library in Groton, CT and find a holiday gift for everyone on your list. An array of local crafters and artisans will be featured including our special guests, Six Paca Alpaca Farms. While you shop, taste unique hot cocoa creations or see our alpaca visitors. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Bill Memorial Library of Groton. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on Sunday, November 25th from 12-3pm. The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton, CT will join over a thousand libraries during International Games Week as they transform their libraries with play. Patrons of all ages are invited to drop in to the library between 10am and 8pm on Tuesday, November 6th to play table top board games. Bring your family or invite a few friends! The library will have a small variety of games available for play, but participants are encouraged to bring a game along. Space for gaming will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Come forth, Jedi of all ages, to celebrate Star Wars Reads Day on Tuesday, October 30 all day during our regular hours of 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Complete activity sheets for prizes, make a Star Wars button, and discover all the amazing Star Wars titles in our collection. We will have books with all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away on display and available to check out. Visitors dressed in a Star Wars costume will receive a bonus prize. The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton, CT is proud to host the performers from Flock Theater for “Readings from the Revolutionary Era” on Wednesday, September 19th at 5:30pm. Join us for a reading of original Revolutionary Era documents by the talented performers of Flock Theater, and watch as the Founding Era comes to life at the Bill Memorial Library.
