Kids' Page

The Bill Memorial Library Children's Room offers books and activities for infants through grade school. Our collection includes picture books, easy readers, magazines, juvenile fiction & non-fiction, and biographies, as well as computers and early learning workstations. Programs for toddlers through middle school are held throughout the year.

Silly Song Sing-Along!

Come join our Silly Song Sing-Along! On Saturday, March 25th at 3:00pm, performer Edward Leonard will present a mix of popular children's songs, interactive musical games, dance and rhythms. Kids of all ages will sing, dance, and act silly with Edward and his guitars, drums, and other assorted musical surprises. This after-hours program will take place while the library is closed to regular patrons. No registration is necessary. For more information, check out our flyer here.

Spring Into Storytime!

We are now taking registration for our spring Story Time program for children ages 5 and under and their caregivers. Story Time takes place on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. beginning April 3 and continues through May 22, 2017. Story Time at the Bill Memorial Library meets in our Children’s Room and features classic stories as well as new favorites, song time with live music, finger plays, and simple crafts. Join us at the Bill Memorial Library on Saturday, April 8, 2017 between 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. for our 2nd Annual Bunny Bonanza. Make a bunny craft, meet LIVE bunnies, take a photo with the Easter Bunny, and other fun activities. Parents, be sure to bring your cameras! The Easter Bunny will give each and every child the opportunity to be photographed with him. The Bunny Bonanza will be a fun time for the whole family. The 2017 Nutmeg Awards Nominees Are In!

The Nutmeg Book Awards is the Connecticut Library Association (CLA) and the Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL)'s joint venture to encourage children and teens reading and voting on great books. The nominees for the Elementary Award: Grades 2-4 can be found here, and the nominees for the Intermediate Award: Grades 4-6 can be found here.
