The Bill Memorial Library Children's Room offers books and activities for infants through grade school. Our collection includes picture books, easy readers, magazines, juvenile fiction & non-fiction, and biographies, as well as computers and early learning workstations. Programs for toddlers through middle school are held throughout the year.

Monster Mayhem Snack & Craft!

The Bill Memorial Library invites children in grades K through 5 and their grownups to a special after-school program on Thursday, October 19th from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Fearsome Fall Crafts will feature creepy crafts and a snack provided by the library. Jeepers Creepers Animal Show

The Bill Memorial Library will host Jeepers Creepers! a special after-hours program on Saturday, October 21st from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. presented by Riverside Reptiles. Just in time for Halloween, kids will see and touch a variety of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, insects and more! Don't worry, we won't bite! With over 25 years’ experience, Riverside Reptiles is passionate about giving adults and children "hands on" learning experiences and teaching about reptiles, amphibians, and other fascinating creatures of the animal world. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The Bill Memorial Library, in partnership with the Riverfront Children’s Center in Groton, is pleased to announce the commencement of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Beginning Monday, September 18, families are invited to come to the library and pick up a registration packet containing program information and reading logs. This free program encourages parents to read 1000 books with their newborn, toddler, or preschool child before he or she starts kindergarten, with the library providing small incentives for each milestone met. This program is designed for children from birth to age 5 and is partially funded by The Friends of The Bill Memorial Library. For more information, please stop by the library or call 860-445-0392. The 2018 Nutmeg Awards Nominees Are In!

The Nutmeg Book Awards is the Connecticut Library Association (CLA) and the Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL)'s joint venture to encourage children and teens reading and voting on great books. The nominees for the Elementary Award: Grades 2-4 can be found here, and the nominees for the Intermediate Award: Grades 4-6 can be found here.
