Reading ABC, the outreach program that places our volunteers in daycares and nursery schools to read to children once a week, is always looking for new readers. We do all the work, you show up and read! If you can spare one hour a week, this would be a great way to spend it.
LIBRARY NEWS
Another reminder to check out www.iConn.org, your one stop resource for research using periodicals, newspapers, and data bases. All you need is your library card.
The Friends have "Signature Items" for sale at the library. You can get our exclusive newly redesigned canvas tote for $10. There are also our Library note cards that make wonderful gifts for $6 [$5 for Friends]. The Friends also have reproductions of 2 vintage postcards, one of the original library building from 1890, the other of the Monument, for only $1 each. These would be great framed for a gift, for out of town guests, or just to send!
